Senior Pilates class for building up your mobility & strength

Senior Pilates class for building up your mobility and strength.  Our senior’s Pilates class is especially designed to meet the needs of Seniors but is also suitable for people of any age, particularly if you are suffering from fibromyalgia, arthritis, Osteoporosis or generally feel a little bit immobile or weak.  This gentle mat pilates class will help build up your strength and keep you mobile.

We use a mixture of standing and mat exercises to work on your mobility, your core and overall strength in our light and airy first floor bespoke Pilates studio.  We use safe exercises, giving you a full body workout – at a more gentle level than a general pilates classes but still while working on your overall strength, mobility and strengthening your core.

All equipment and mats are provided (but you can bring your own mat if you prefer).

If you think you may struggle to get down onto a mat, then we do also offer Chair Pilates classes where we work on mobility and strength whilst seated in a chair.

How can Pilates help?

Pilates has been proven to help with Osteoporosis as per this study  but you need to take some care as some exercises in general classes may not be suitable for you.  Our gentle mat class uses Osteoporosis-safe exercises.

All Pilates classes work on strengthening your core, working on balance, keeping mobile and overall body strength.  Our gentle matwork class will still do this but without some of the bigger (and potentially more risky) exercises and positions.
